Looking for info on this pump. Has anyone used it and did they like it? Some general info on the pump
28' max head
850 gph at 0'
140 watts
magnetic drive
pressure rated-yes

This pump will be used for mixing saltwater, pumping waste saltwater out to our ditch since we have septic tank and pumping water into the sump for a water change. Coralife also has a pump-Turbo sea high pressure pump model 790-p, that is comparable.

Any info would be appreciated, even for other brands!

Thanks!

personally, I would say it would be a shame to use a T3 as a utility pump :)

it is an awesome pump - so silent you have to touch it to see if it is running - no seals - a great medium-flow pressure-rated pump!

Thansk for you feedback! I am running a Iwaki as teh tank pump but it is old. If it ever konks out then I can replace it with the blue line and get another pump for water mixing.

Anyone else?

Forgive my ignorance..... but can someone explain " running hot"? If this pump is used for circulation from the sump to the main tank, does it increase water temp as it runs through the pump?

Thanks!

I love my T4........Yes it will add a few degrees of temp to the tank.

This is how I contended with it on my T4.

That fan will easily take 2-4 degrees from the tank.

I did that to my sequence dart. The pump dropped an easy 15-20 degrees if not more. Not sure how much heat a dart adds to the water, I did it for a longer pump life.

longer pump life is good, this T4 has over 4 years of continuos operation. It was hot to the touch before the mod and now runs cool and quiet.

Greg, did you wire fan into the pump or is it a separate 110v plug to an outlet? Where did you get the aluminum finned heat sink?

Mark

The fan and heat sink were junk from a PC in the trash and the power supply was from an old cell phone.

Total Price FAH REE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
