Blundering Urchin

Hello All,
I lost my mind at the swap and purchased a beautiful short spine urchin, because I liked it so much. Now, however, I hate it SO MUCH :furious:
This little bugger goes merrily gliding all over my reef tank, knocking off my frags..... . I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to use a plastic "mouse play ball" to put one of "wrecking balls" in. I have thought about trying it with this guy. I believe they have those "clear balls" at "Pet Smart". Maybe put some sea weed from walmart in the ball with him.... Whadayathink? :mixed:

HA!!! I bought one too. so far he is pretty good about not knocking anything over. he is clumsy and fell off the rock once . he did negotiate some frags and didnt knock them over. are yours glued down well or the plugs planted in teh rock work good?

I usually find the urchins that have skinny spines are pretty good at not knocking over things. Maybe you have a drunk urchin.

I just noticed you are from Dickson. Did you know they opened up a new LFS in the Dickson Plaza? I haven't been yet but my wife went this morning. She said they don't have SW stuff yet but plan to soon. She said Chris that worked at Emerald Bay works there now.

I have everything glued down pretty good, but he seems for have fallen in love with the sun coral. That is the one he keeps knocking off the rocks. He is dark brown and white striped. very nice coloring. I saw the orange one but SOMEONE bought it first. I won't mention names but his initials are "pickupman".:lolspin: Guess I'll wait on the mouse ball, but that little sucker is pushing his luck..... Linda J.

I actually just put in an order yesterday for some fish from Liveaqauaria and I saw they had some clingfish and I had to get some. I had a pair years ago and they did well and spent a lot of time in a longspine urchin I had. I don't have one right now so I ordered one of those as well. I haven't ordered any livestock in a long time but they had some stuff you don't see everyday and my son was begging me to order some fish so I splurged a little. At least my urchin will have seeing eye clingfish.

Pretty cool little fish. I have read they are hard to care for but the last pair I had lived for well over a year I would say. I think one jumped out and I can't remember what happened to the other one. They loved cyclopeze.
