I just returned from Panama specifically Boca Del Toros. I had the opportunity to take a Catamaran tour to the outer islands to go snorkeling. The captain stopped the boat near some mangroves and told us to swim along the edge. All I could say is that it was amazing! Very rarely do I have the opportunity to see the things I purchased for my tank in the wild. The reef was covered with zoanthids(thousands) sponges of different colors(purple, orange) flame scallops, cocoa worms of every size and color, anemones(long tentacle and carpets)and starfish the size of my hand (orange starsThere were also numerous bristle stars of different colors and hard corals covering the reef. I was surprised that there were very few fish in this area of the reef but we did see coral beauties.
We also had the opportunity to go to other snorkeling locations but none were as good or as healthy, I guess it was because we were closer to civilization. Once you get out into crystal-clear water it is amazing the amount of life that you say
)I did not have an underwater camera but the site below has pictures of exactly what I saw on my trip
