Bonaire in October, need your help...

My boyfriend and I are going on a much needed vacation to Bonaire in October. Unfortunately my lungs and heart are not strong enough to be able to scuba. Can anyone provide some consolation and maybe help me figure out where we can still see a lot by snorkelling?
Also, we are looking for a one bedroom, or two if it's not $$, condo, villa, stand alone, apartment, whatever, that is simple, not right IN town, where we could cook for ourselves? It does not need to be flash, but clean is important to me. Reccommendations would really help, as we've never taken a trip like this, and it's once in a lifetime for us. Thanks everybody!

Almost all the shore dive sites have excellent reefs well within easy snorkeling range ;) Some of the hotels also have excellent "house" reefs with easy access. Definitely a good destination for snorkeling ;)

I know you said you wanted to cook for yourself - but if that's not a big deal you should check out Menno and Esther who run Deep Blue View(villa/bed&breakfast). We've stayed there twice so far and would not look else where.

We were there in October last year - you're going to love it!
