"Bonsai Reef" (SPS style)

Hmmm, I'm not sure because I haven't ordered from them in a while. Try this link and then click on products. There should be different categories, ie....arch, bonsai, centerpiece, etc....

Thanks Franky, I'll try and take some new shots this month. I gotten some new growth, but nothing crazy. The shortcake piece I bought from you had originally browned out, then colored up. Now it's browned out again. Not sure why, but I think it misses your tank and the T5's.:D
How do you feel the biological filtration is with that stuff?

Do you have more live/dry rock in your sump/refugium, if so how much?

The Vida Rock has been great, with no issues. I don't have any extra rock in the tank at all. What you see in the display is all there is. I don't have my tank heavily loaded with fish so I'm sure that helps. I think I have 10 fish total in 120 gallons.

It's been a few months since I've posted, but I'm always lurking. Took a couple quick FTS photos with the cell phone and wanted to post for growth and documentation.

Hmmm, The pics didn't look as dark when I look at them in my phone. For some reason they darken up when I copy and paste. Anyway, here's one more.

Nice update Todd why not put that candy cane in the center. May get more light and better flow from both sides.
Thanks Franky, to be honest I have a hell of a time keeping any LPS in this system.
It's surviving, but not thriving. I'm not sure it would do any better no matter where I put. I think I need dirtier water.

It's the curse of the balance oh well tank looks good at least you still got SPS I miss mine
Yeah, sorry man, I heard about your tank. It was pretty impressive. I'm still keeping alive the SSC frag you sold me, but I can't get it to color up. It starts to get some color and then goes back to brown. You can see it laying down just above the candy cane. Good polyp extension, but nothing but a brown turd right now.

I can't wait for my sps to grow

I hear ya. Keep everything stable and happy and your corals will grow and grow. This tank should be much farther along then it is because of the fact I wasn't keeping it stable and happy. I think I would get faster growth with 14k bulbs, but I like the look of the 20k's.

I have three pieces in the front that I can't get to color up. They are growing and encrusting with good polyp extension, but remain a grayish/brown. From left to right are Tyree pink lemonade, Sarmentosa, and SSC (from Franky). You would never know it by looking at them (kind of sad). I don't want to move them and I was thinking about maybe adding some light to that area (maybe a kessil). I'll probably give them a bit more time and see what happens. Here's the same FTS and I circled the three that I'm talking about.
I have a par meter. I really need to take it out and see if this area has lower lighting for some reason.

Could be flow and light, but you obviously know what your doing so Ill just grab some more popcorn and enjoy the thread. One of my favorites BTW

Thanks Tweaked, I thought light too, but I'm just not sure how to add more without buying a whole new fixture. Any extra cash is going toward a new build at work at the moment (25 gallon Mr. Aqua low iron rimless cube). We pretty much run the same lighting, (minus the T5's on my end) just different fixtures. It's weird how some stuff does great and others just fade away.

Nice work
Thanks

Well, another 3-4 months have gone by, so time for a few photos. Everything has been on track and growing slowly, but steady. I had a small battle with a few vermetid snails, but they were pretty easy to eradicate. I also started the Fauna Marin Balling Light method a few weeks ago. That also seems to be going pretty well. So, on with a few pics:
