"Bonsai Reef" (SPS style)

ahh I see.

did you have to soak it ? or did you just use it ? wondering about po4 leaching from it.

I just gave it a quick rinse and put it in. So far no spike in phosphate (.04 and holding). I don't use any GFO, just carbon right now.

That really is incredible. I just checked out the vida rocks site and it makes me want to redo my 75 when move it in the near future, lol. Good luck with the tank and I will definitely be tagging along

Thanks Bob, I'm really liking the vida rock. No pests to worry about, very light, and easy to work with.

This is terrible, what would make you do such a thing to such a great tank. Why would you want to showcase your corals in such a way that they would look so awesome. I mean come on, all that open space for swimming and fish activities. Great flow patterns and room for growth....ugh...I'm disgusted with this.....

My tank sucks!!! Back to the drawing board!!!

Lol, all kidding aside...F'ing stelllllllar job, have yourself a delicious beer and pat yourself on the back till it bruises, lol. My hats off to you sir!!!

You have mastered aquascaping. Sorry to hear about all the systems you had to go through but clearly it was worth it to have this. Is it going to be a zeo system?

HA, LOL, Thanks man.

Thanks, yes, lots of systems, lots of money I shouldn't have been spending, but I am happy with this result and think I am good now for a long time. I am using a couple of the zeo products, but not by the book. I have been using their AA and the coral food once in a while (forgot the name).

that is great to hear, I am in process of moving and re-setting up my tank, will grab some of those rocks this week. thanks.

keep us posted on your process :)

Your tank looks cool Todd.
That's kind of the idea I was going with in my tank. As you had seen much smaller and in a hex.
By the way the skimmer is awsome. It is removing 3x-4x what my old skimmer was.

Hey Paul, thanks. I'm glad the skimmer is working out for you.

I actually ordered the small "bonsai" rock made by CeramEco from Aquarium Specialty. That was months ago and for some reason they were out of stock at that time and continue to be. Not sure what is going on with that. I did get my "grotto" and I'm happy with that. It's the same concept. A porous type of clay. Just rinse it and drop it in. The only thing I saw was a little diatom bloom and then it was fine. Did you notice any type of diatoms with yours? I love the look of your scape. Pure awesomeness!! :)

Thank you.
You should give them a call for sure. I didn't order mine from them, but that doesn't seem right. As far as diatoms go. It was a while ago, but I think I do remember a quick round of them. They went away just as fast as they showed up.
