Sup RC, I purchased a small blotchy two days ago from my local LFS. I acclimated him for three hours and then put him into a social box inside the tank to see if any other fish would have aggression. Anyways everything seemed to look good but now the blotchy is in the corner swimming face down. When I feed him mysis shrimp he eats everything and swims fine. I am just worried about swim bladder infections.

Has anyone else experienced this? Will this behavior pass ??

you can

1) puncture the bladder to release air. Chech you tube channels for this. The put antibiotics in the tank to prevent infection.

2) Hope for the best and put him in an acclimation box in the bottom of the tank to prevent him from floating. Hopefully over time, the gas will escape.

3) I have also heard of holding them head up underwater to let the gas come out the mouth.

Thanks for all the info. lol I started researching how to puncture the bladder but this evening he started swimming normal for an hour or so before he went back to his same position. Hopefully this behavior will pass.
