Boris has Passed Away...

I am sad to say that after two wonderful years of dominating her Mantis Lair, Boris has passed on to the aquarium in the sky.... I think she died of old age while I was out of town for thanksgiving.... she was probaly close to 6 or 7 years old as she was 4" when i got her, and around 6 upon her death. My roommates were looking after her, and noticed that she wasn't eating... I came home sunday night to find my chocolate chip star trying to feast on her... She was actualy quite heavy when I pulled her out...so I photographed the postmortem and proceeded to bury her in my yard...

It was a sad day of mourning in athens, as Boris was all of my friend's favorite ocean beast. We will miss her spectacular death matches with Gladiator Crayfish....

I am in the process of cleaning up the tank, and looking for a new peacock....it turns out my lfs (who hasn't seen a peacock since Boris 2 years ago) came across one at the wholesaler today...unfortunetly I didnt put in a order ahead of time, so i hope it will still be there next thursday...

So in memory I will post some of my favorite pics of my favorite pet...

Aww, I'm so sorry. I know I was devestated when I lost my favorite wennerae. It's amazing how attached to them we can get.

I am sorry to hear your loss. I still miss my mantis and it died over 6 months ago. If your thinking of geting another one, liveaquria has 3 in the divers den.
