Ok so about 2 weeks ago i got a tiger pistol shrimp and he dug his whole and everything was good. Then this past Friday i got a yellow watchman goby and it took some time but he made his way into shrimps lair. Now the problem is that when ever the goby tries to leave and keep watch the shrimp won't let him. He just makes him stay in his lair. I just shoot some plankton and mysids in there so the lil guy doesnt starve from being held hostage. any sugestions guys?

Sounds normal to me. My hig fin goby and candy cane pistol stay in their hole, but for me its the goby who bosses the shrimp around.

Sounds normal to me. My YWG rarely left the front entrance to the lair, and when it did venture out, the shrimp would only go so far, then back into the cave. I wouldn't worry about it. ;)

Is he hanging out in the front of the hole, or completely inside? The only time I have seen my goby camped out inside the hole is when my pistol is molting... It usually lasts a couple days, then it's back to normal. Which is the goby just outside the entrance.

Depends on species. And watch it if you have firefish and others like them. Pistols will kill them if they invade the hole, as they often will.
