Both my Perculas have chunks missing from their fins

I have a pair of Percula Clownfish who have been in my tank for around 2 months. Over the last few days I have noticed they BOTH have small cuts in their fins, mainly the top fin but also from the rear fin too. The only things I have added to the tank in the last few weeks have been a Midas Blenny and an Emerald Crab. They always swim near the Blenny and seem to get on, I have never seen him attack them, but they also swim near rocks a lot, so im wondering if the emerald crab did it? I find it very strange that both fish have the same markings and nothing else in the tank does.

Apart from the fin damage they both swim around as normal and are very healthy/eat well.

The other tank inhabitants are various Scarlet/Blue leg Hermits, Trochus Snails, Firefish, Royal Gramma, and a Bangaii Cardinal.

A picture would help if you can. That is odd though. Are they getting along ok? Does it look like fin rot?

I noticed my surviving Banggai female is picking fights with the percula pair in the tank, so that may be your culprit.

Another pair got fin damage when I added anemone crabs.

Im certain it is not fin rot. They get on really well, they are almost always hanging around together. The Bangii is very peaceful, I have had him around a month with no problems, the nipped fins only happened a few days ago.

Here is a pic of the one of the fish with part of the top fin missing. You cant see it in the pic but in real life you can see the bare spine.

That sure looks like a bite. Just had to check about the fin rot. Rogue crab?

I had a small porcelain anemone crab in a gig, when th clowns tried to bed the anemone one of my clowns lost half his tail to the crab

Looks like im going to have to try and trap it, I wonder if a bottle trap will work? Any idea what I should put in as bait?

Really? My LFS was insistent that they only had Percula's in stock at the time and that mine were definitely Percula's. The guy said they dont normally get them in as "Percula's are better fish". Not that I mind or anything, I actually wanted some Ocellaris to begin with.

How can you tell they arent Percula's?

It is the general impression of the fish, color, band shape, black borders, ... like with porn - I know it when I see it :lol2:

The real tell tale sign is the slight white rim between the black rim and the clear parts of the soft dorsal, caudal and pectoral fins, percula don't have that.
