Bought my first radion!

Just dropped 800 cash(Canadian) on a new xr15 gen 4 to replace my kessil 160. The kessil never gave me the growth and colours I've been hoping for. Parameters are all in line and stable. Stoked to have programmability with this new toy!!
 
Wow! Your 15 is as much as our 30 here in the states?

You should love it though. My Elos has been doing pretty well under the G4 Pros. :)
 
Yeah 560 for the light and another 135 for the rms mount plus 13 points for taxes. No wonder im broke haha. Kinda stoked! Gonna try the ab program and see how it goes. Now I'm gonna need a reef link and vortechs next. Stupid expensive hobbies
 
Going from a Kessil 160 to a Radion 15 G4 is a huge upgrade. I'm sure you will love it.

Ah, the rms was included, that makes more sense. haha

I've been using the Coral Lab AB+ program. Been working out pretty well so far.
You'll probably want to run the acclimation option since you are changing from a different light.

Have you run any variations of the program? I.e: Running more white in addition to what is already set?

For a while I was running more white for an hour or so in the evenings when I was home just so I could see more true colors in the coral.
 
I was thinking that I would try the ab+ program but I was hoping I could add moonlights to the end of the day for extra viewing time. Originally I had my kessil on for 12 hours on with no ramp as I didn't have the spectral controller but my corals werent happy. Having the tank only lit for 7 or 8 hours certainly limits the time you can enjoy it :(
 
i use radions, was using the a+b but have switched to the radiance program and have had much better results, (95% sps). good luck with the new toys...... zsu
 
Once my corals color up a bit absolutely I can take pics. I'm not happy with where the tank is as far as colour and growth yet, hence the reason I'm trying the radion. Should have it up and running by Tuesday or Wednesday. The lights are not in stock at the online retailer I bought it from. I was told they might get them today but it doesn't seem like that happened :(
 
Well I'm not too impressed with this new light.... Like seriously they don't include free sunglasses ??? This thing is a beast! I'm running the ab+ program at 38 percent intensity right now but it's ramping up to 70 percent over the next 5 weeks. Looking forward to how my corals look after!
 
Cool I have been running mine XR30 at 55% for the past 2-3 weeks using a mixture of AB+ and radiant schedule ... alongside my T5...I am so happy tht my acros r now showing good polyp extension and growth. You will love this new toy.
