Cell phone camera will not take a good picture of the layout. you will have to do a layout in excel or something.

Hey all....

I just received my S300 and I'm planning to mod and install the light into my canopy in a day or so. Does anyone have any suggestions for ramping sequences for a tank that had MH and T5? I know I need to start low on intensity so I don't burn the corals. I've also read that sequence 1 and 8 need to be set at zero.

Thanks in advance,

Riddler

Heres the right one i tried deleting my last post didnt work lol

I see you have configured every cluster different. you dpt have a channel dedicated to either all blue or all white. Interesting!
Yup i get a nice blue with channel 3 with the uv's i have that one turn on first @ 7 and start ramping to 65% by 9 ,then channel 1 turns on @ 9 which is a mix of 450 royals and 470 blues and ramps to 65% by 10 ,channel 4 starts at 1% @ 9 and ramps up to 65% by 11 and has 4500k, 420,450& &470, and channel 2 most of the mixed whites and some royal blues turn on at 11 and ramp up to 50% by 1

Let me know if you seen any issues.

Don't see any obvious problems, but lights out quite early at 8pm apart from the moonlights, I have mine on later so I can enjoy when I come home from work.

Hi GillGuy,

Just read the thread from start to back and was recommended to come and have a chat by Foo. I'm just about to take delivery of a new 4ft tank (4x2x2 with a cabinet hood) which will be be home for fish, SPS and LPS.

You mentioned at some point adding some additional UV's in your config, could you please let me know your current config and any recommendations on lenses?

The tank is being custom made, I'm thinking about modifying the hood for ventilation - how does yours cope with being enclosed? Any heat issues?

Many thanks for your help

Rob

Rob no heat issues with mine. The back of my hood is completely open and I also have two exhaust fans pushing air through the top of the hood. As far as configuration everything is still the same as the way I ordered it. I never did add the extra UV's I only changed the lenses on the reds and greens to 120 and the leds around the side edges on cluster one and four to 90 degree. Try and make your hood at least 16 inches tall so you can place the lights at least 12-14 inches above the water.

Just got a response back from Kevin for an s150+ but I'm sort of second guessing the purchase now. I was quoted $368 Usd shipped. This is basically the same price as a max spect razor which was my original choice. The whole point of going China direct for me was to get something of similar quality for much less. Is there any reason why I would choose this over a 120w Razor? I can march down to my lfs and pick one up right now, and get warranty service through them if anything goes wrong. What's the advantage to the s150+ besides the android app control?

Well first of all you get 8 more leds which translate to 24 more watts. The S150 has 48 (3) watt for a total of 144. But the most important is that you can customize your led layout. If you truly can buy a 120 watt Razor off the shelf for $368 that is a good deal cause they usually go for approximately $430 but you are stuck with the standard layout, either 10000K or 16000K. So with Ledzeal you do have to pay for shipping but you get more power, your customized layout, and still cheaper.

Thanks GillGuy, really appreciate your help. I'm expecting delivery of the tank soon, so will have to wait until then to see what height I can mount at.

The tank has a solid oak hood and hinged lid, the back provides a gap of about 3" high along the back. I'm thinking I may have to start drilling some holes for the fans.

The tank is 1200mm wide (4ft), assuming I'm aiming for a S300 as the best bet, can anyone provide exact dimensions for the unit: Including the ports on each side and with cables connected?) Also, any experience/advice on how much clearance to provide on each side for ventilation/cooling?

Thanks for your help and advice.

KR

Just to add some background: Tank is 24" deep, so wondering for best light penetration, if I should go for S300 with 60 degree optics or S200 with 90's? (Presuming it fits!)
