Bought new led light fixture from China.

Hows it going gillguy i have a question for you i ordered my ledzeal with no reds and greens i have the s400 and feel its lacking spectrum i swapped 10-12000k with 4500k to try to bring out the reds and still feel it lacking something in spectrum im thinking of swapping 10-more with 6500k it looks good no doubt im also thinking of adding 5-more uv 2-630nm and 2-660nm reds in there to see if it helps how do you like the green and reds i saw you run the channel with colors dimmer then the rest are they over powering the blues?

I have thought of removing the greens but I keep changing my mind. As far as the reds I love the color it puts out. At first when I bought the unit I had 60 degree optics and it was like a spotlight and did not like the look. Then I switched to 120 and love the way it blended in.

However, I would not add more than one red per cluster. That's plenty. So I would add the reds instead of changing the whites to 6500K.

Just found this thread and read through a little of it. What would work on a 90G tank 48x24x24. I've got a canopy but can fit a 48" unit with about 1/2 on the ends. Can these be mounted to the top of a canopy?

My canopy is already vented with water proof fans so I should be able to cool them quiet well.

Thanks,

Riddler

The S300 is 47.24" long. The challenge will be with the connectors on the ends. Odds are you will need to drill a hole for the data connector as it's about 1.5" long.
If you have a center brace you might consider using 2 - S150's.
I have a 72" 150 gallon with a center brace. I used 2 - S200's at 35.4" and had to drill a hole for the data connector and stagger the fixtures for the power connector.
One of these days I'm going to try to move the connectors to the top of the fixture, but haven't had time to play with it.
But so far I am very happy with the fixture.

Any pictures of what your talking about? I have no issues with drilling a hole for something.

I do have the center brace though...

Also I can't seem to find any prices...

For prices send an email to one of the guys at LED Zeal. I dealt with Kevin, he was very quick to respond. I bought a bunch of different color LED's and lenses to play around with the set up. Like a couple others, I did not use any reds or greens. But I'm seriously thinking about adding a couple reds just to see the difference. One thing if you have a tall cabinet, ask about extensions or longer cables from the power supply. We have a tall stand and the cables were to short too mount the psu's where I wanted inside the stand.

Here's a couple pics of my set up. As you can see the data connectors add a couple inches to the length of the fixture. Eventually I'm going to either re-hang the fixtures, or move the connectors to the top of the unit.

I received this information from Kevin for my S400, so if they are all created the same, this should work for you.

It is standard led lens used in our unit just as others, Holder Diameter: 21~22mm Holder Height: 13~14mm

Awsome thanks i emailed kevin this am and he confirmed the sizes time to hit ebay lol does anyone know the difference between the clear and dimpled lenses

If anyone is looking to purchase a set of the s200 with gilguys layout I have a set that I am putting up for sale here real soon and can save you about 100 bucks. only differents in his and mine is I went with a 120 degree optics on the red and greens and 90 everywhere else. The light is fricking awesome but for it to really work for me I would need to purchase two more fixture since I have upgraded to a 300 gallon tank so im just going to go with T5s and MH since I already have them.

I was playing with my controller yesterday and flipped threw the pre programs and sunrise mode had some really good settings i liked color wise man they were slick looked like a radium almost does anyone know how to get a ramping close to those without checking it every hour to see where its at lol i want to try to mimic it to my hours i tried running it in that mode and it was too long .thanks fellas.

Hi all,

I am new to this forum from the UK. I found this thread after searching for info about these light and i think that it has swayed me to get them.

Before I do i just have a few questions.

My tank is 5ft by 2ft and 23 inches from water surface to sand bed, a mixed reef with sps, lps and softies, and i am currently runing a giesemann infinity moonlight with 2 *250 halides and 4 54w T5's. The length of this unit is 4ft.

Do you think i should get the s300 or s400 for this tank? am a bit worried that the s400 might be over kill as i have a weir box at each end of the tank, and only low light corals in the 6 inches at the sides.

Also i will be hanging it between 8 and 12 inches above the tank, what lenses do you thing would be best, 90 deg?

Many Thanks

Dave

Well finally got around to changing out some leds i ordered and moving some whites around i added 5-420 violets and removed some royal blues from channel 4 and took some whites from channel 2 and swapped them with some royal blues from channel 4 2-per cluster and swapped most of the 1200k leds with other whites 15-4500k and 5-7500k and really like the coloration now and the white spread its more even im thinking of swapping the other 12000k leds with 5 more 4500k and 5 more 7500k or go all 4500k well see what happens i think the 12000k leds were washimg out the colors the light looks more natural and evenly spread ill snap i pic later when i get home of the clusters

Got some pricing on the s300 today. Not to bad at all. It's too bad the shipping is $108 to my door. Is everyone still having good results with their lights? How is your coral growth for those that have had it for about a year?

are the leds easy to swap?

Thaks. he just send me the instructions.

10/4 i was a little nervous at first cause ive only solder speaker wires but it was a breaze you just have to make sure to put the new leds in -&&& &&+ in the right way i noticed the ones they used are in backwards so if your moving them around re install them exactly how they were when you removed them - + wise i used leds i ordered from reefbreeders and they worked the way the symbols are on the pcb board
