Bought new led light fixture from China.

does not help, tried with all blues at 100, and others at 0

my questions was to those who tried some extra steps, like adding T5 or changing some leds inside malibu

I'm looking to order the s200 for my new 90 gallon tank. My tank dimensions are 36 wide x 24 deep x 24 tall. I have a hood, but probably won't use it...I can hang the lights from any height. I'll probably go with Gillguy's LED layout. Can anyone suggest what height to hang the fixture and what optics to use? I'll be keeping SPS.

Just happen to see your post and I have a pair of s200 fixtures that i am looking to sell if you are interested. let me know.

After playing around with the controller, I finally figured out what Gillguy was saying. The changes are not a simple on/off. The values ramp up to the highest level set, then slowly ramp up or down to the next sequence... Pretty impressive for a bare bones controller.

Gillguy, I really appreciate all you've done helping so many of us with this new product!

After having the lights on for the weekend, I hear what others have said about the noisy fan on the PSU. I'll definitely be looking into a way to fix that. Might be something as simple as mounting a small muffin fan over the cooling slats and pushing air into the unit.

Anyhow, Here's my most recent schedule where I put in a couple place holders to keep it at my max value. And stop it from ramping up in the morning...

Just got the s300+ today and loving the app control! Was using your light schedule Fuzzy and was wondering if you've changed it since Schedule v3 you posted 4/21/14? I like it, but wondering if some of the jumps are quite sharp? Ie ch2 (whites) 60-20% in 15min?

Thanks

Hi,

I just changed from the Wireless Smart controller version to the App controlled Plus version. Much easier control so far (only 5 mins of playing). The app connected immediately.

The only downside is that the light doesn't connect to an existing Wifi network, but broadcasts its own SSID, which is unencrypted.

I'm sure this is how most such lights work however.

Hey Rob...you still happy with your new fixture? I contacted Kevin with a few questions,...he was quick at getting back to me and have been receiving a lot of follow up emails as to weather I have made a decision yet. Thanks,---Rick

Hi Rick,

Yep, but the tank is still dry :( so I don't think I could comment any further on performance :)

There's plenty of very happy users around, will hopefully get the tank wet soon, I've been away so much recently everything is just gathering dust. :(

Cheers

Rob

Update: Dropped Kevin an email and he instantly came back with intructions on how to link the light unit to an existing wifi or to encrypt it's own network.

2 reasons, first this way i have much less algae, second at least i get more blue light...5% i meant only white and red/green channels, blue and rb work at 60-70%

Still any ideas how to get more glow from corals under thsi fixture?

What LED configuration are you using? Are you using the standard one or one with additional Royal Blues as per GillGuy's set-up?

I have had these lights for a year now and have not seen any significant coral growth
Has anybody seen the same problem and what was the fix ?
