Bought new led light fixture from China.

Is easy to replace the idodes and or the entire bank.
I had to reinstall a couple of them when I replaced the lenses as they were stuck to them. I also replace an entire bank when it went bad.
Kevin send me a replacement ASAP when it malfunctioned.

Thanks Ricky. Good to know.

Has anyone else noticed random flashing when the unit is turned off? I don't believe this is from the lighting settings as they are not active and the light is turned off from the smart controller, but my other half noticed a bright blue flash from the light a few times now when powered off.

Best regards

Rob

So, I have a question for you guys.
What's the benefit of using UV lights at 410nm?
I'm thinking about using 420nm lights instead of UV. I figure I won't have to wear eye protection staring at it:)

I'm no expert, but anywhere between 410-450nm is highly usable by corals. Past 450nm and utilisation drops radically. Penetration through sea water drops after 450nm also, although I doubt this has a real impact at 2ft. :)

Below 400 really is pure UV and is damaging to both coral and us.

(Trying not to look at my lights now...) :)

So, I just pulled the trigger on an S200 after Kevin came back to me. Custom build, should be shipped within 3-4 days and a very good price. I was considering 3 x Radions or even Mitras (heat would be too much of an issue), so a LEDZeal seems a bargain.

GillGuy - I took your advice and went for your layout in the end with 120 degree lenses. But also ordered some replacement 90's and UV LED's if I decide I don't need the red and green.

The biggest bonus for me is the launch of the Android app, which looks good! This may be an excuse for me to set-up an Android tablet on the wall as a tank control panel. :)

Not sure how quick DHL ship to the UK, but looking forward to it's arrival and having a play!

Thanks for all your patience and advice to a complete newbie.

Rob

Hi - I'm looking to order this same fixture. Can you share the layout you used? I am going to be lighting a 36 x 24 x 24 90 gallon. So you can easily replace the lenses on each LED?

i just purchased the second set of lights in this thread. I've had the for about two weeks and love the look and effects. All of the coral seem to be adjusting well - but they were without any white lights for a month. the woman that I talked to really gave me a great break on the price and I could send you the contact info if you are interested in their lights.

Rick, I worked with Darleen. I originally ordered 2 Asta's, but there was a problem with one of their suppliers, so they gave me the option to get the 2 Gemi's at the same price of the Asta's (which they also offered to me at a great price). I bought the tank mounting kit for the gemis, but I will probably end up using the hanging kit instead. the lights look great and the lighting looks better. I need to tone down the mid-day lights - I think they're a little too bright. the setup from the computer was a little confusing, but Darleen helped with that. now, I just need to make some adjustments. i'll try to add a few more pictures tonight. the other crazy thing was it took two days to get them from hong kong - they used dhl. they offered me the gemis sunday evening, our time and they were in my living room by Tuesday afternoon.

I'm really happy so far.

Yeah,...that is really quick turn around all the way from HK. Litta was asking me about the new Ledzeal S series Android control,...your saying these now can be controlled from your smart phone? Please keep us posted as you get them dialed in.

007, yes - I haven't set that up yet either. I have an iphone and they're close to sending that out - but I do have an android tablet that I will try to setup tonight also. 2 young kids keep us running around a lot - I wish I had an extra couple of days during the week - sometimes... I also bought the wireless controller and it works great. we set the thunderstorm mode for around 4:30 each day and since we live in south florida, it usually occurs while we are having a storm outside. I will update my thread tonight or tomorrow with a few new pictures and notes

Is this the ledzeal Malibu or another fixture I have never tried the lightning mode on my s400 I always thought you had to use it on the pre program channel and not in diy

Hi Jet,...I was looking at the Asta's at first because my tank is 42" deep. There was a fellow that bought some 10-15 pages back. I pm'ed him about his thoughts but never heard back. Litta has been providing info on Gemi's and told me they would work on my tank with 60-90 or combo of both lenses.
South Florida hummm love it down there :)

Hi Guys, may be you can give me some advice. I got mine s300 4 month ago, and still can not produce enough blue light from ut, as a result my corals do not glow enough well and this bothers me seriously. I have nearby another smaller tank with much blue leds and everything is fine there. I already was thinking to add some deep marine t5 or replace leds. Pleasse tell me how you feel with color and if changed what you done. I have my whites at zero and r/g/uv at 5 max, still not blue.

I'm looking to order the s200 for my new 90 gallon tank. My tank dimensions are 36 wide x 24 deep x 24 tall. I have a hood, but probably won't use it...I can hang the lights from any height. I'll probably go with Gillguy's LED layout. Can anyone suggest what height to hang the fixture and what optics to use? I'll be keeping SPS.

One other question as well - For the price would you buy the S200 36" fixture for my size aquarium, or would you go with the reefbreeders photon 32"?

90 Gallon 36 x 24 x 24 tall

I cannot comment on the Reefbreeders as I never owned one. The light can be hung at 12-16" with 90 degree lenses.

Any reason why you have the lights only at 5%?

2 reasons, first this way i have much less algae, second at least i get more blue light...5% i meant only white and red/green channels, blue and rb work at 60-70%

Still any ideas how to get more glow from corals under thsi fixture?
