Colours are custom build

Chan 1: 100% Blue
Chan 2: 100% Royal Blue
Chan 3: 100% Uv and Violet
Chan 4: 50% Whites, yellow, green, red, etc

High is Key, leds need high, 90 degree lenses, with 50cm high. Check Ecotech Coral Lab paper (google it).

Awesome tank and corals Edosan, thanks for sharing.

I'm still going through the water change regime to remove the metals which caused my SPS crash, so hopefully will be restocking in a few weeks. The Montipora, Stylophora and Milka's are doing really well though!

Thanks!

Use cuprisorb always in a reactor. If you dose regularly trace elements you will have no problem.

Thanks - I run carbon, but wherever the contamination came from (chromium, Nickel and Tin) is now being removed with Triton detox and water changes.

Thought you might be interested in a little growth comparison under a LEDZeal S200+ with GillGuy's config on some of the surviving SPS:

BTW, I downloaded the LEDZeal app today from the Apple App Store (it's apparently on Google Play too), search for "Aquazealer"

Significant growing change ~
Right, also noticed ledzeal shot a Wifi controller and iphone app .
Did not see much change on app modes but it looks just fine.

Thanks - hoping to have some more when the detox regime is sorted. :)

The App looks exactly the same functionality wise, a little different on cosmetics. The biggest improvement is getting it in the official Apple and Google App stores IMHO.

New to LED, need help understanding.

What a great thread, I am going to take the plunge and order an S400 today for my RSM 650. Can anyone point me to some resources which will help me understand the implications of different configurations as I have no clue to what difference alternative setups will make.
I am just going to go with what Kevin suggets as the standard setup although I think 90 degree lenses may suit better than the 120 he suggests, any thoughts?

Like MarkMcFish I am a first time poster on these forums, having spent several months searching for a thread on MalibuS300. At the beginning of the year I set up my first custom reef tank and was sold the MalibuS300 unit. It, as I understand it, is the stock set up - no customisation and I am unable to get corals to grow under it. I have killed many, I currently have 3-4 which have been under the lights for months and no growth but they live but everything else has died. I have read through this thread but have absolutely no ability to understand how this lighting works and what would be the best configuration to have, what I should get rid of/change etc.

This is what I currently have http://www.ukmarinelighting.co.uk/ledzeal-malibu-s300-wifi-led-lighting-system-253-p.asp

When you refer to channel 1, 2, 3, 4 does that equate to LED1, LED2, LED3, LED4 or does it mean something else? If it does equate then I would love a guideline as to what to programme each to ie time and level. I am totally stuck.

What are the dimensions of your tank? If Kevin is suggesting 120's then I would go with that. He can ship a whole set of replacement lenses if needed for not very much more, which is what I did.

I would put 120's on the green and red no matter what.

I would suggest something else is going on in your tank rather than just lighting. Even on standard set up, you should get decent growth. I would look at your water chemistry to check everything is in check.

Can you post up your lighting schedule? BTW, Channels = Channels of LED, so on my set-up:

Channel (LED) 1: Blue
Channel (LED) 2: White
Channel (LED) 3: Royal Blue & UV
Channel (LED) 4: Red, Green & Royal blue

I run channel 1 at no higher than 67% and balance the other channels against it to get the look I want.

Thank you so much for replying.

Channel 1 : x12 450nm Royal Blue x8 400nm UV
Channel 2 : x8 480nm Blue x4 520nm Green x8 6500k White x4 650nm Red
Channel 3 : x24 12000k White
Channel 4 : x8 12000k White, x8 450nm Royal Blue x8 470nm Deep Blue

The above is what I have, it is what the lighting came with. After I posted on here last evening I went back through this thread again and reset my channels.

1 & 3 are now 6:30 am 0%, 8:00 am 20%, 9:00 am 35%, 10:00 am 55%, 11:30 55%, 4:30 pm 55%, 6:30 pm 35%, 8:00 pm 0%.
2 maxes at 45% I think and 4 at 35%. I'll do a graph up - it was late last night when I finished adjusting everything. It is the first night I have had no lights on in the tank since I got it!

Today I have to say my corals look better than I have seen them for a very long time :)

This is not my first marine tank, I have a red sea C250 still running but it is T5 lighting :) and has been as easy as to use :)
