Bought new led light fixture from China.

I searched this thread and didn't find anyone who posted any par values for the s300.

Any idea on this? I could use a ball park at least. I ended up with Gillguy's original set up.

I installed my S400 yesterday over my 150 DT.

Can anyone tell me if installing 120 or 90 degree optics will spread the light for more coverage in my tank?

I have some shadowing and the front of my tank is dark. I had them ship my LED with 60 degree optics because my tank is deep and I was planning on hanging my light about 12" above the water.

Before I try to tweak the optics I wanted to see if this might solve my issues.

I'm less concerned about penetration into the tank....I want the light to spread out further to cover the dark areas of my tank

You may want raise the lights a bit more to see if that solves your issue.

Here are two pics of the light installed above my tank.

My tank is built into custom cabinetry and the light is housed inside cupboards above the tank. I have (2) 4" icecap fans mounted on either side of the cupboards pulling air out to cool and keep moisture where the light is mounted. The power supply and controller are housed in cupboards below the tank.

I will try to raise the light to solve some of the shadowing I'm experiencing....seems a lot easier than changing out lenses.

Thanks for the suggestion!

You have a fair bit of over hang with the vertical wall, so I think you are going to struggle with full coverage from LEDs unless you can raise it up.

What are the tank dimensions? It may even be worth running a pair for all over coverage.

One thing I have noticed is the LED lights don't fill my tank like my MH and VHO's did.

I've raised the lights higher and haven't noticed a significant difference. I'm not through playing around with positioning the lights

My family likes the looks of the new LED lights better than the MH/VHO combo. They really like the UV colored LED's and how the red and green LED's look on the rocks and gravel.

I am noticing significant shadowing

The cross support braces that run across my tank in 2 places cast a shadow

you see 2 dark stripes across my tank where the braces are located

Just pointing out differences I notice since switching to LED's from MH & VHO...

No one ever mentioned these things that I've read anywhere

Still happy with LED's and still have to tweak things a bit....

What percent do you run? I've hit 100% on mine. 10 hours per day with 5 hours of 3x54watt t5.

I replaced tje black plastic braces on my 125 with 1/2" clear acrylic. I put weldon #16 on the end 2.5" or so of the acrylic and then clamped them to the underside of the black braces.

I gave it a full 24h to cure. Then, I drained about 3" from the tank, put cardboard under the braces to catch any filings and cut through and removed the center 12" of the black plastic braces, leaving the portions that were glued to the acrylic. This way the tank was never without the cross support.

It was super simple, took maybe an hour of work total, and solved any brace shadowing issues.

Anyone know this light Lumini asta 120 and pixie 150 , my 3f tank want to use this light any suggestion ?
