Bought new led light fixture from China.

Thank you so much for replying.

Channel 1 : x12 450nm Royal Blue x8 400nm UV
Channel 2 : x8 480nm Blue x4 520nm Green x8 6500k White x4 650nm Red
Channel 3 : x24 12000k White
Channel 4 : x8 12000k White, x8 450nm Royal Blue x8 470nm Deep Blue

The above is what I have, it is what the lighting came with. After I posted on here last evening I went back through this thread again and reset my channels.

1 & 3 are now 6:30 am 0%, 8:00 am 20%, 9:00 am 35%, 10:00 am 55%, 11:30 55%, 4:30 pm 55%, 6:30 pm 35%, 8:00 pm 0%.
2 maxes at 45% I think and 4 at 35%. I'll do a graph up - it was late last night when I finished adjusting everything. It is the first night I have had no lights on in the tank since I got it!

Today I have to say my corals look better than I have seen them for a very long time :)

This is not my first marine tank, I have a red sea C250 still running but it is T5 lighting :) and has been as easy as to use :)

That's good news. Your set up has a lot of white and green, GillGuy's set-up replaces a lot of white with more Blue/Royal Blue which is what I have. I have one red and one green per pad of LEDs.

Good to hear things are looking better.

Hey Tasty, my tank is a red sea max 650. I am just going to go wth Kevin's suggestions and adjust from there, thanks for the help.

No problem. Glad I can help someone as the other contributors to this thread helped me so much in my search for the ideal light and set-up. I'm very happy with my choice thanks to the members here!

Can I purchase blue/royal blue LED and replace some of the white with them? Or do I have to have the channels replaced. I figured I was white heavy after reading through this fabulous thread, although I felt that if standard was not the best then why would they sell it as such.

I've had a go at uploading an attachment to show what i currently have. Channels 1 & 3 are identical. Let me know what you think please :)

Tasty, very nice grow! congrats!

Didn´t read all buy why did you get heavy metal sps crash?

Thanks for that, they're still growing as we speak. The stylophora is branching out rapidly too now.

I have not traced the source of the metal contamination, but an ICP revealed Nickel, Chromium and zinc at high levels. I think combined with 0 nitrates due to a fallow period tipped everything over the edge. :(

You can replace the individual LED pucs, however it would depend on your competency and I would probably have a chat with Kevin or the guys at LEDZeal.

When I bought mine, I was in two minds about the red and green, so also purchased some additional UV's to replace them with if I ever chose to.

Hi All,

Does anyone have PAR readouts on their tanks? This trend is 50+ pages and wasn't sure if anyone had posted theirs. The info I see from their website states at 65cm hang, but I want to know what the PAR is using the metal brackets.

I got my S 400 yesterday and put it on the tank ... Wow! Unbelievable contrast and colour but coming from ten 80watt T-5s there is a significant drop in brightness.
Can someone reassure me that they provide sufficient light for continued coral growth please ... Even though everyone on this thtead loves them I am a bit concerned about the light output, some of the corals at the back are pretty hard to see now even with 120 degree optics.

I posted some pics a few posts back (http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=24658056&postcount=1453) showing growth rates on my Stylophoria and serriatopora. Both were pretty low down on the scape and towards the edge of the tank.

I had good growth on my acroporas also, prior to the wipe out. However others have had more long term success examples :(

What are the dimensions of your tank? One of the things I have been considering is to fit a second unit as my lights are so close to the water, spread from any LED is an issue for me. 10 T5's sounds like a large fixture, so I would consider multiple units.

I agree tasty, my tank is 1550 mm long by 570 high and 530 deep. Thought I might get away with the one light but will probably buy another one for better coverage. They are insanely colourful arent they?

How high are you mounting them? Mine are literally 6cm off of the water surface (<2" for you imperial people) with 90 degree lenses on a 4x2x2 tank

I reduce the red/green channel on mine to below 20% which seems to give the corals the spectrum they need and highlights the colours in the fish, whilst still blending really nicely

Uh oh, think Im in trouble

I have had the S400 on my tank for a week now and have some rtn on one of my old acros, burnt tips on some others (identified by the algae on the ends) but others are just fine. Does anyone have any recommended schedules?

There's a load of schedules earlier on in this thread, depending on what config you are running. There is also a seperate thread on RC too. Search for LEDZeal schedule

I had a niggling issue on the LEDZeal a few weeks back where it would lose its program in the night and the LED's would flash. As soon as I connected powered it off and on and connected to it from the app it was fine again.

I dropped a mail to LEDZeal who diagnosed a faulty component and sent it out straight away.

Light working perfectly again and great customer service from these guys once again.

A quick update everything's been doing good I have the lights cranked up and the T5 is running fine getting good growth really liking how things are turning out.

I was looking a few posts back when I put pictures when I first added to t5's and I was running my LEDs really low and getting growth but not like how I wanted and it's amazing how much growth I've got on some corals within the last couple months

Do you guys think the 5ft model would work great with a 6ft long softie tank? I have mushrooms at the sides of my tank so I would imagine i can get away without much light on the sides but I'm just wondering if there will be significant shade there.

Schedule

Well it's been a year and the lights are still running strong.
I was wondering what schedules everyone is running now for a heavy SPS tank?

Bought new led light fixture from China.

It depends on the width/depth of the tank. Softies do not require a whole lot of light.

My tank has been running for 3 years now; within this time frame I added 2 more fixtures, totaling now (2 - 5FT and 1 - 4FT).
All SPS corals were frags when purchased and now the tank is 100% full and all corals are huge colonies.

My lights run from 8am to 11:00pm with high noon for several hours at 95% on blues and 80% on whites, UV
