boys at Salty Critter

I know it has been said before and by many, but the staff at Salty Critter are some of the best; period. I had to take my kids with me last night even though the trip is too long for their patients and as a result they were holy terrors in the store. Instead of being all tense or uptight none of the guys even flinched. If they were have as bent out of shape as I was about my kids they would have bounced the lot of us right out the front door.

What I got instead was patience and extra help in explaining a solution needed for my bryso-nasty spawn of evil algae.

These guys have great customer service, tons of things in stock, and are fair at the till.

Thanks so much for the help

David

Love that Salty Critter

Top notch for sure. About a month ago I drove out there (an hour drive for me) and stepping out of the car, realized I forgot my wallet. Doh! I was very annoyed with myself and set my mind to simple browsing. I mentioned my bone-headedness to Dan who replied without hesitation: "No problem, you can call me with your card number when you get home." I didn't expect that. I know that it put no extra burden on him, but it did show recognition and appreciation for repeat business and it made me feel good. Being in the hospitality business, I pay close attention to good customer service and prize it highly.

Cheers,
Ben

The Salty Critter is the BEST!! Their customer service is Great. They truly care about their products and really make a customer feel appreciated. Karl

I have to agree that Dan and his crew are all pretty knowledgeable and friendly.

There is one thing I would like to bring up to you guys...

While I was there with another C-SEA member it was quiet in the store and we were talking to Dan. He said that he thinks there are only about 6-10 guys from C-SEA who frequent his place. From the looks of things here almost all of us go there.

He should know that his support of the club does not go unappreciated. Please mention that you are a member of C-SEA and thank him for giving us price breaks on items for our raffles and fragging events.

I know it is said over and over to "thank the sponsors" but I think he would feel better about sponsoring the club if he knew how many of us are in and out of the store every week. We might even get some nicer items out of it.

I probably go every week or 2 myself. Many of you guys are regulars but he might not even know you are part of C-SEA.

Just my 2 cents.

I ask so many questions I feel ashamed at times :D . They never even flinch (as said above) If you come in to look you cannot go for more than a few minutes without someone offering to help you. I send most of my "new" to the hobby friends there because I know they will talk them out of the things that wont stand a chance in their tanks. I try to send most of my purchases their way, or atleast ask for availability before purchasing elsewhere, I would hate to see this resource go away.

i also refer anyone i come across that has any interest in starting up a marine aquarium exclusively to salty critter! i had been looking for a better lfs than in my town! i found it 9 months ago when i visited salty critter for the first time and i couldnt have been more blown away! :strooper:

On my wish list is for salty critter to open another store on the east side. (or at least closer to downtown) It's a loooong road trip for us far east siders. I'm not saying it's not worth it, just that it's not easy to find a 4-5 hour window (takes me at least an hour and 45 minutes each way) to go reef shopping. Props to Dan and Salty Critter, easily the best around.

I've dropped some serious money at Salty as a direct result of C-sea. I never would have heard of Salty otherwise. does he ever frequent these boards?

All I can say is that Dan has been SUPER with me. He'll go the extra mile....and that means so much. Once I finish med school and have my dream reef (not my 15 gallon nano...although I will ALWAYS have a nano)..he's the one I'm going to...PERIOD. His service and dedication to his customers is bar none.

Don't forget those of us that are not members. We still listen to your recomendations and frequent Salty, because of the great feedback we hear. Their affiliation with C-Sea has provided countless customers.

Dan is probably the most honest person in the states about what he sells. He has talked me out of buying expensive stuff, that HE sells, such as the new calcium monitors. He doesn't think they're realiable enough, nor worth the money. Now how many owners would convince someone NOT to buy their expensive goods. He has done the same with other gear, and fish that might be problematic. That place is my regular 'Sunday Drive'..I asked about his getting an east-side place opened at one point, (I'd LOVE to manage it for him!).

Amy,
I'm sure you would love to manage it for him ;) Can you say... EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT :p If I worked there I would never bring home a check it would be store credit only. I would have things waiting for me to work off the price before bringing them home. I would be like an alcoholic bartender.

Who??? Why ME?!?!?!?!?!? :smokin:

Let's figure out a day and all go out there and do an appreciation day buy! I'm free weekends when my 'workers' don't show up, hmm, who would they (he) be? (Will wait to see if he catches on to this thread, top secret stuff here).
