Brains

You can remove the brain corals that come on the rock. HOWEVER, you must chisel or drill the rock they are sitting on without harming the coral in the process. Not worth it in my opinion!

I received several brain corals on my rock. I have had the rock and brains since Nov 2003.

Over the past 2 months, they have been coming off of their skeletons. One very slowly, and 1 in the matter of a week. Now, my last brain coral has begun to come off of its skeleton. This one appears to be coming off even faster and will probably be completely off in 2-3 days.

Is there anything that I can do to keep the last one from coming off its skeleton?
Any suggestions for the other 2 brains that have already come off of their skeletons? Will the reattach or can they be attached to something? Will they survive and grow another skeleton?

Any suggestions on something to look for that may be causing the brains to come off from their skeletons?

Any help would be appreciated.

I've never heard of the brains coming off their skeletons, I'm a zoa and mushroom guy. But I do know the brains need to be spot fed, how often are you feeding them? It is supposed to be 2-5 times a week.

I spot feed shrimp every 2 - 3 days

I also feed to the entire tank a mix of cyclop-eeze, shredded shrimp, minced garlic, and various sizes of rotifer golden pearls. Occasionally DT's Phytoplankton.

The brains will accept shrimp that is when I spot feed small pieces, so it doesn't seem to be related to food, unless there is something that the brains require that I am not providing.
