Brand new Purple Tang in QT appears to have ich

Hi everyone, just picked this guy up along with Royal Dottyback from my LFS on Sunday, 3 days ago. They've been in quarantine together since getting home, and now I just noticed 3 small white specs on the side of the Purple Tang. They're round and very small, like a very small grain of salt. It's also twitching a bit as it swims as if there's an itch.

I know my treatment options, and planning to go the copper route. But my question is, from what I know about ich, these seems super fast for a complete lifecycle, right? It's been 72 hours since I got it home, and no visible issues or behaviors until right now. Is it possible it spread from the gills? Just want to ensure I'm not mis-diagnosing here. Thanks!

Spots come and go with ich but it's still in the tank. The white spots basically exit from the parasite from the fish skin.

Yeah have looked through them, the ich sticky says "trophont will spend three to seven days", so seemed like 12 hours could mean it's something else.

Anyways, will do TTM. Thanks!
