Brand new Sunpod 150w not working....any tips?

I just set up my new 24 gal aquapod and plugged in the sunpod 150 hqi and the fan comes on but the light is not coming on. I pulled the glass off and checked that the bulb was in place, but still no luck. Anybody know what might be wrong aside from a bad bulb? I am really hoping not to have to take this back. The moonlights are cool anyway. :rollface: Any help would be appreciated.

Corey...I had the same experience as you. I was trying to plug it in to a cheap power strip. Didn't work...so I plugged directly into the wall. Then the light would come on sometimes and not others. Anyway after about 3 weeks the light did not come on at all. The bulb had burned out. Now I believe that I had a faulty bulb from the beginnning.

I have the exact same problem! I just got this last night, and it worked fine for 5 hours, and then today, I am unable to get it to come on.

I will call Current later today and see what they say.

Just called them - the lady I talked to said to try and "flip the bulb" in the socket - and if it still didn't work reliably, call the retailer I bought it from, and get a new bulb from them. There is a 3 month warranty on the bulb.

From what i have heard, on HQI bulbs, they have to be oriented so the nipple is pointing up.
so you might want to try turning the bulb over before you go to all the trouble of sending it in
