Brando's 180 Gallon in Wall!!!

Thanks, how is your tank coming along? I was following your build thread and saw some things the rock :/.

I been on bed rest for past 72 hours, have a viral infection reeking havoc on my body. Lost about 10 -15 lbs in the past 72 hrs. Can't keep anything in at all and rough to lift my head. ugh. Feeling better today thankfully

Sorry to hear you are sick. My tank is on the road to recovery. I have been working on the new rock structure today. Should have some new pics up this weekend.

Nice I'll check them out, today was my first day back at work thankfully. After missing 3 days I walked in to about 45 things needing to get done :oyy!:

I need to do a water change on my tank and empty the skimmer this weekend (fun) NOT

Placed an order for an African Exquisite Wrasse Super Male and Yellow watchman goby both fish will be 1.5 - 2" or so and should be here Saturday!

Also picked up a SA black ocellaris + Sa fancy white for my office tank from clownaquatics.com should be nice. Now if only people would STOP tapping the glass there :smashhead:

I haven't been since my last order I got from them. I was planning on doing more fish in April, but may need to extend that to may since I'll be getting my lasik surgery plus a crown/root canal. Aka lots of $ being spent in April.

I'm trying to figure out what fish to do next. My tangs will be last and I plan on going to buy a 7500 watt generator before they're added. Hmm decisions decisions.

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 2

Added an African Exquisite Wrasse Super Male and Yellow watchman goby today from Clown Aquatics. The African Exquisite Wrasse Super Male is AWESOME!, the yellow watchman goby disappeared in my 180 lol.

I will try to snap a video tomorrow, but so far no aggression among all the wrasses and it is already eating no problems.

WOOOHOOOO

Lol I also picked up a generator yesterday

I will try to snap some photos of the fish tmrw, letting it adjust not, but it is really gorgeous and I'm really happy with it.

Probably should update I also have a moorish idol already eating coming in end of the month/April.

After that I think in June I'll add a midas blenny + starcki damsel.

Followed by end of July or August maybe my tangs/emperor angel and call it a day.

Whew FISH!

Well just went to go feed the tank and found my Carpenter's wrasse sitting on top of my netting cover. It is crazy because the fish should not have been able to fit through the holes. It was probably out of the water for an hour or two since I checked the tank prior.

The fish unfortunately died :/.

Brando457 - Sorry to hear about your fish. What sized netting did you use? I use the stuff from BRS and so far so good. I take it the Viral infection is all done as well.

I want to say it is 1/4", it is a crap shoot that it made it through because I took the dead body and tried fititng it gently through after just to see and I mean it was a TIGHT fit

I had 3 carpenters wrasses and let me tell you they WILL find a way out, i lost 2 /3 to jumping and i have a net on mine. They suck for that, as alot of wrasses do. Be prepared for it to happen again, sadly.

Tanks looking good, take it slow with adding things. Patients is key my friend

Thanks for the kind words, I added a vortech mp40 tonight to replace my 2 koralias, thing is working well. If I would've waited I could've got 3 of those jb40s going around :x. But no wires in the tank is nice!

I have a moorish idol and midas blenny coming in next week. After those two fish I will be done until June/July since I will be getting my lasik surgery and paying cash for it. $4600, but well worth it in my book not to need glasses!

I need to figure out *** to do to control algae, I keep adding hermits and snails and they keep going mia :/. I have nasty algae growth on the rocks, but no way to control it right now.

Hermits eat snails if they cant find food or want to upgrade shells, i stopped buying them because of that.

As for the algae, are you using 0 TDS water when your topping off the tank and doing water changes?

How much are you feeding?

How old is the tank now?

It isn't the hermits, the hermits are literally getting eaten by the wrasse!

Yes 0 tds for top off and water changes, I have 2 tds meters and just changed my filters on 1.20.2013.

1/20/2013 added gfo & carbon

I need to get a new pump for my carbon reactor so that has been offline 2 days, I will replace it with fresh carbon.

I do feed somewhat heavy of flake/pellets and once in awhile frozen. My skimmer does a pretty good job of removing all the yuck.

Bulbs are leds, about a year old or so I bought used. 2 x AI Sol Blue fixtures.
