soon i will be breaking down a lee-mar 100g rimless, staphire tank. but wanna see if theres interest in miami hurricane chalice. 15-20 eyes purchased from Jose Casas in California. purchased it for 120.00 but grew crazy. pm me

A coral the is 2"x2" you have got to be joking. Since when did all these really small frags go from under $40-50 to over $200. I was at Reef Culture and saw their new sps and there was what looked to me like a Tri Color and they wanted like $200 it was a frag under 1"! dont get me wrong I really like Reef Culture and know a few of the guys there, get people and place. They are just getting the corals at a high cost. I have gotten many really nice frags for under $20 so I cant see paying such high prices. Even really nice ORA sps can be had for $50-$60.

The coral being discussed here is a chalice coral not an SPS frag. Prices are a little different.

The corals you mention at reef culture are wild Australian imports so they're going to be a little more expensive. You also can't compare these prices to the prices of ORA stuff. That would be like saying you're upset cause the baby lion imported from Africa is more expensive that the tabby cat coming from the fry's parking lot.

Not to mention it is extremely rude and from memory against the rules to complain on someones f/s thread. If you do not like something or the price, walk away.

To note, I have seen chalices go for a lot more than that, especially a miami hurricane.

lol wow. thats why i was hesitant on posting on here just for the fact that everyone is looking for a deal. but for the size of the chalice it is a good price. i bought 1 1/2 eyes for 120.00.. im pretty fair about prices i usually giving. thanks guys

:lolspin:

I can see how allsps40 is shocked by a $200 price tag coming from a hobbyist, but for what the coral is its a great price. It's just one of those "it is what it is" when it comes to certain coral prices. IMO ALL chalices are too expensive, but like stated above its not necessary/rather rude to call someone out on their asking price. Don't like the price, then just hit the back button and move on.

Bump for a sweet coral, and good luck with the sale! :)
