Breeding Pairs - Luck?

I think I've been unusually lucky getting my clowns to spawn. I bought one pair in July, and it was spawning by end of august. Then I bought two pairs On Sept 24, 1 was spawning last friday night, and one is spawning right now. None of these were spawning pairs when I bought them. Two pairs were from a larger lot of clowns in a tank. My equation for luck was to make sure I get a big female. Usually stores just have 1 year old clowns, but I was able to find some that must have been 2 or 3 years old.

I keep the lights on for 16 hours on a timer. Feel TDO, New life spectrum, a froze mush from a fellow reefer, and live adult brine shrimp. I really think the brine shrimp makes a difference. I feed them only to fish who I want to spawn and that are readily accepting other foods. I also only feed the brine shrimp AFTER they have gotten a good fill of other foods.

This is in a 40gallon breeder split up into 5 compartments - 8g each. All plumbed to a sump with a skimmer, a Remote DSB, a fuge. Nitrates are steady at 25 PPM. I haven't bothered much with water changes, other than siphoning off the bottom of the tanks.

Am I unusually lucky or am I just following the rules and getting rewarded.

So what are going to do with all of this spawning pair luck?

I just found out today my ocilares have eggs and don't have an idea what to do , help need an advise?

Don't make any plans to try and rear this batch. Instead, start reading up on some of the clownfish rearing threads to get an idea of what you need to do to raise clownish. Foremast is rearing large quantities of rotifers as the first food for the larvae. You need that culture up and running before the spawn, so no time for this batch...at least without spending lots of money for a large enough live culture. You'll also need to get a rearing tank set up, along with a few other supplies.

You are not lucky, just a good aquarist. After saying that, clowns are probably the easiest fish to get to spawn and if you have some and they are not spawning, something is wrong as clowns shouls always spawn. That is one of the things they do besides eating and texting. They will change sex to fit their situation. My pair of fireclowns also constantly spawn and my larger one is about 24 years old. You are probably feeding correctly and your fish may like you.
Good job.

(Hi Bill, it is going to ba a balmy 62 degrees here today)

Hi Paul,
