Brightwell Aquatics NeoZeo method.

Well i just made the plunge, started dosing mb7 5ml the last three days and have just filled up the phosban reactor one fifth today, have notice an increase in my foam production on my skimmer already, so mb7 is definitely making a difference already in three days!!

I'm not too sure if i'm going to grab the biofuel or just use vodka/vsv to dose as a carbon source, i've read that biofuel creates a blackish brown slime coating on everything, any thoughts on this guys, its not really about price as both are really cheap, i just have some doubts on the biofuel.

i've also grabbed some of the brightwells lugol, magnesium and will be picking up some koralcolor along with aminos but won't be dosing those for a while as i want to see the difference each product makes.

Here's my update photo. It's not as good as some of the other tanks on this thread, but I'm happy with the NeoZeo system. Before NeoZeo, all my sps's were dying.

Wow,
Nicely done, your tank is looking ever so sweet... I really like the scaping, lots of sps on top with a blend of softies and lps... really nice... Are you running the full system...stones...and all...

Thanks plyle02, Yes I'm running the MB7, BF and zeovite stones in a phosban reactor. Additive are a mix of zeovite, brightwell and warner marine.

K so, I've been following this thread a bit, and have a basic understanding of how all of these zeo systems, and I just don't get why people keep trying it in Nano/pico tanks (under 30g or so) and/or without skimmers. The whole point of dosing for bacteria is to make the bacteria so it gets skimmed out. Even with tons of filter floss being replaced almost daily, you're still letting the bacteria break down. I mean, can anyone explain to me what I'm not "getting" here? I want people to be successful with the minimum expenditure on chemicals and proprietary blends of whatnot, but comeon. Do a dang waterchange in a 14g tank. You don't have enough water volume in that small a tank to get the results of the greats like SunnyX and PnoyReefer.

I don't mean to hate, but I want people to be realistic and not spend money with false hopes.

@ReefWreak. Yes you are correct, probiotics systems creates a water born bio-mass that can be removed by your skimmer. This is the preferred method of removal. Small 10% water changes isn't a good way to lower nitrates long term (Randy wrote an article on this). Besides, huge water changes may be quite uncomfortable to your live stock. And who really likes lugging lots of water change bucket around (larger systems). I don't have a nano, so I can't comment on that. What I can tell you is probiotics have turned my tank around. JMO for what it worth. :)

Ups, this is the first time i post a picture of my tank in RC, sorry for the mistake!

This is my new 75 galon tank, I start the tank 5weeks ago with dead rock, dead sand and new water with reef crystal salt. I am using the neozeo method, 750g of neo zeolite in a reactor with 100 g ph flow. I am dosing in the moment 7 drops of mb7 and 7 drops of bf, nothin else.

The corals are looking good.

Ivan5105,
Very nice clean looking tank, your colors are really nice. Keep up the grea work!

Reeferpnoy,
Looking sweet as usual, your tank will be TOTM maerial in the next year, really cool stuff.... I am going to see if I can find any recent pics to post...
Well done guys...

I am getting ready to start this. WIll I be better off with a large canister filter or a media reactor like the vertex? I have teh MB7 and have been doing that for two weeks now. I also have been using the potassion and ferrion. My K is around 280 so I am trying to push it up. Also going form RC to either DD or BW.

I am going to use the Fluval 305. It will hold 6.6 liters of media which is more than I will need. Can I use carbon or a filter floss in it as well?

I don't run it, yet, still awaiting the Zeolite, went with Elos Zeolite, instead of Brightwell's, but it will be here Friday.

If you use a water polishing pad, that is the finest material I've used. What gets through the sponge, will not get through the water polishing pad. Fluval makes 'em. I use one and replace it every 3-4 days, because its so fine, once it catches stuff, it doesn't let go of it, so cleaning it, is nearly impossible.

And it does clear up the tank faster than any other "things" out there. Like I said, also has a limited life as well. Only costs a few bucks a box, and you get 6 pads, you can give it a try and see how you like it.
