You can easily pull BBS off of it for two days.....even three but the output drops quite bit.

The one problem here is that many of those nauplii will be older ones that just hadn't made their way to the center yet. Those older naups are both larger, and nutritionally very poor. Hence the need for daily hatches for any serious attempts at larval rearing. Those second and third day nauplii will, however, be good for gut loading with things like phyto and selcon and feeding to larger larva or for growing out the shrimp themselves.

Yep I agree. I try to time my first hatch retriveal at the 18 hour mark. At this point they majority should still have the yolk sac and the nutritional value that goes with that.
 
Bringing this one back for a little added info. I took a picture of the type of harvest you should be getting at the 18 hour mark with a water temp of 80 degrees. You should be able to pull this many out 4-5 times between the 18-24 hour mark. There will still more to harvest if you want to wait past the 24 hour mark, but the output is less and this is when I'm ready to reload the dish anyway.



You can't really see it, but the inner ring of the dish is teaming with BBS also, but there is no room from them to move to the center. If you don't want to wait for these guys to move in after harvesting the first batch, I sometimes siphon them out with a syringe. Nothing but BBS, no unhatched stuff or shells.
