Brine Shrimp

Anyone know how long live brine shrimp will last in the refrigerator?

I've had them go for about a week. No airstone or nothing. Just threw them in an empty cool whip container & in the fridge they went.

You can store the decapsulated eggs in a brine solution in the fridge and then hatch them out in a matter of a few hours when needed, if you want to go that way. I've kept them over a month (by accident, once) and, with extended time, the hatch out rates go down somewhat, but they are still pretty much ready to go.

Interesting Elysia. I might try that next time instead of just buying them form the LFS.

How hard is it to raise brine shrimp?

Check out that link that Cloak listed. It looks fairly easy if you have some area and time to mess with it. I bought 1 serving (about a thousand) from the LFS for $2, so I'm still waying the work verses the small cost of just buying live.
