Bringing kids to conventions?

I plan to attend Reef-a-palooza in Anaheim next month. I have two kids (ages 3 and 6). I know that if I bring them, I won't be attending talks, but I figure they will get a kick out of seeing everything. Anyone have any experiences bringing little ones to the conventions and how that went?

One of the local Community Colleges sets up a nice touch tank that children love to see. The crowds at Reef a Palooza can be a bit overwhelming for small children, but if you navigate around the most crowded booths it is certainly manageable for children. It is typically less crowded in the mid afternoon time slot. I really wouldn't shy away from the talks, if you sit in the back where you can slip out if your children are having a hard time, I think you will find the speakers very accommodating of children.

I'm in the same boat.. have a soon to be 7 yr old and 1 yr old.. the I did all this for them and the 7 yd old can care less lol.. I will be attending the one in Anaheim also for the first time, still debating if i should take my 7 yr old.. OH do you know if we need to get tickets ahead of time or can just pay to get in at door?

Thanks for the advice all. It sounds like not getting there as it opens and skipping the talks (I know the limits of my three year old) will be on my agenda. They'll definitely get something out of the experience.
