Bristle worm trap that actually works

Help please. I tried a foot long piece of PVC, capped at the ends, 1/8th hole in each end cap with shrimp inside. The worms come out of the rock and enter the trap to eat. But they never fully leave the rock and after eating return to the rock. I have one worm that I verified over 12 inches while still some part hidden in the rock. I have an arrow crab for over 6 months and he is at least 5 inches across but he does not seem to eat them. I need a better DIY solution.

Ty in advance

I'm not sure why you want to trap them but reducing feedings will reduce their numbers. You may also need to find a way to move the trap further away from the rocks. They can stretch quite far and will only completely leave the rock if absolutely necessary.
