Most bristleworms found in our aquariums are good guys. They scavenge leftover food and help stir the sandbed. Put some pellets in your tank at night and watch the fun with a red flashlight. Wooo-creepy! More info http://www.reefs.org/library/aquarium_net/0697/0697_2.html. (OH, don't touch them!)
I have never had a problem with them until lately. I bought a baby blue tang and when he wedges himself in the rocks (like they do) he comes out with bristles stuck in him grrrrrr.... I am not going to try and eradicate them entirely and would not suggest it either, but I am going to keep them in check in the future. I think a wrasse or an arrow crab might be a welcome addition to both are tanks.
