Bristle worms

So I keep seeing good things about bristle worms. They seem to be a lot more active in my tank and are actually making themselves known lately. Just want to make sure these are actually bristle worms and not something else. First pic is actually two different worms in the same hole. The second picture is a different rock and a different worm. Both taken seconds apart, not sure why all three are out and about. So are these bristle worms? IMG_1696.jpgIMG_1696.jpgIMG_1697.jpg

Thanks. Look at pictures on the web... then I think they kinda look like this other thing... or maybe this thing... etc

I had a lady who overfed her tank. Believe it or not, the green bristle worms can get around 5 feet long. A salinity issue caused them to stress and die- causing the tank to crash. Took about 4 lbs of them out of a 45 gallon tank-most between 20 and 50 inches. She had seen one or two pencil sized ones but had no idea all that was in the rock.

If you want to keep population down, keep feeding to a minimum. They do get big and nasty if fed well

if you are seeing them hanging around at the coffee bar and socializing all day then you are probably overfeeding. Are they texting you selfies yet?
They are also easy to catch with tweezers if you want less, but they are a great indicator of too much nutrients in the system.
