Newbie with 29g tank, LR, crabs, snails and 4 fish. Looking at activity while feeding today and discovered something small poking it's head out underneath a rock base. Fits the description of a bristle worm. Should I be concerned?
WHenever you get live rock, you're apt to pick up a few, but you could ask your lfs for a couple. If you've done business with them, they should comp you a couple of worms.
Fireworms are a subset of bristleworms. The fireworms have calcaerous bristles with venom, hence the name "fireworms". One species of fireworm is known to eat corals. The rest are fine to have. Maybe most of the bristleworms in my tank are fireworms. There are lots of them, anyway:
