if you've got a nem, be sure to have the following: a refractometer [I keep mine at 1.025], a good alkalinity test [I use Salifert] and keep it at 8.3 or thereabouts [use buffer to adjust]; and a good ph meter [easier than strips]---keep it between 7.9 and 8.3. One major problem with anemones in new tanks is that the chemistry tends to bounce, the nem gets unhappy, detaches, wanders, and gets into trouble or stings something that fights back. Cover your pump intakes with a sponge or rubberbanded filter floss: they go with the flow and that can be tragic. And mostly, just test everything often, test salinity daily [do you have an auto topoff gadget?], and log test results daily and systematically so if your numbers slip, you can correct things the day before they head into trouble.
