I Just added 100 lbs of live rock 2 my tank.. I expected some hitch hikers...obviously.. I cut the lights and crept up on the tank with a flash light. Reef Central experts identified the creature as a brittle Star. Further examination revealed and least 10 of these creatures. Still very, very small, in the holes in the live rock...just arms sticking out. I would call this an infestation..I need some feed back.

They are great at keeping your water clean by grabbing whatever they can get with their arm sticking out of the rock. They also come out at night to scavenge.

They can become VERY annoying if you need to feed your corals, these star will grab stuff intended for your corals. They breed faster than rabbits. If your water is good, you will have thousands of them soon.
