Brittle starfish, killers?

I have one like this,

It is around 7 inches across, this week I have had a yellow tang and a powder brown tang disappear and then float out of the rock work dead..

Will they kill fish?

No, those are harmless. I'd look for another reason why your fish died.

If it had killed them, I dont think it'd let them go until mostly eaten.

Pretty sure I saw threads with them talking about some of the common starfish from retailers being fish eaters that catch them at night.

FWIW I never had trouble with mine, then again I did have a Kole tang show up dead I was trying to catch for chewing on everything. But I still blame the big maroon.
