broken 2002?

Hello, Roger,
My old Tunze 2002 (bought from Darin Sewell when he upgraded), seems to have kicked the bucket. I had always been able to keep it going by tweaking it, but yesterday spilled some water on the transformer. Took it apart, looks ok, still doesn't work.
Is it worth repairing this old stallion, or should i get a new one to match my other new one? Thank you for any help.

I think you mean Darin Tidwell. I would say in 90% of cases they are worth repairing. Why don't you send it to me? Even if you need a full motor which is $85.14 you are still money ahead of a new pump. Generally when you spill water on them the bearings sieze up, and it sounds like if you were having to nurse it along the bearings were not doing so hot to begin with. New bearings isn't a big deal $18 or so. Further damage is a possibility if it was run for sometime and cycled through several overheats and restarts after cooling down but generally this is rare. I charge $15 flat labor regardless of repair needed so considering it costs round trip about $20 UPS, even if you had a worse case scenario and needed everything new that was a moving part you would still save over $50 over buying new.

Roger, You are right: it was Darin Tidwell (we have a Darin Sewell in our Wiscoreef group). With your permission i will send poor 2002 to you at P.O. Box 60318 in Austin. Thank you very much for your prompt help. (hey, i thought yu were supposed to be on vacation!!! Go scubadiving!)
Incidentally, our local Tunze dealer is Gooch Gephardt, who does a great job.
Thank you,
Janet Moench:)
