Brookynella Hostilis Question

I have had average luck with treating Brookynella on my clowns that do come up with it during quarantine but nothing that seems to rid it. I typcially use a 10G Quar. use 1 tsp Kordons Rid-Ich+ for protozoans and supplement it with Mela fix as a 2ndary bacterial prevention. Also add poly-aqua (strong stress coat). They heal over time if I catch it but does anyone know of a stronger cure? I am not looking for a 24hr cure as I doubt it exists but something that with patience will rid it! Thanks for your input.

Travis--Thanks for the links--luckily my current case is going neutral to better at the moment. I'll keep researching and post what I find. Appreciate the info!

Instead of using the Rid-Ich+, which is a mixture of formalin and malachite green, get yourself from straight formalin (Kordon/Novalek sells some under the label Formalin-3) and administer it according to the directions as a short-term (30-60 minute) saltwater bath.

Formalin [37% solution] is a very good idea. Especially as a dip. Foramlin added to a system can be quite detrimental as it contains methanol which can wipe out biological. I've been experimenting with Praziquatil with mixed results. Brook is wearing me out these days. For the past week all my wild clowns [from 3 different vendors] are popping with it within 24 hours. I haven't even got them out of acclimation before they pop. I always start with a FW dip and then use Formalin or Prazi.

Scott and Steve--Appreciate the info--I have ordered some straight Formalin 37% and will begin using it--Brook is also wearing me out--the fact that I have "saved" all but one, is great except for it keeps coming back! I'll give this a shot--I have experienced methanol poisoning as a younger aquarist--I would never add it to the main system. Thanks again.

When dealing with wild-caught clownfish, I just assume they have Brooklynella and treat them all the day after they arrive.
