Brown coral recovery progress

Oh my god. Good luck with getting rid of all of the blood suckers. I've inspected the crap out of mine and so far I haven't seen anything. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the both of us. Keep us updated

Man that pic is going to give me bad dreams for a month! Good luck killing the little vermen let us know how it goes.

Well, really, I knew better.

I must shamefully admit that after years of nothing worse than the occasional planaria outbreak, I was most definitely suffering from an "I can't happen to me" attitude, and paid the price.

Welcome to the club :sad2:

Yeah, it's a real bummer.

I think I have arrived at a course of action. I'm going to take healthy frags of all my acros, as big as possible while sticking only to live tissue. Those are going into an unused 90g system at a friend of mines house. They will be dipped before going into the 90, and then again at 1 week intervals. What's left in my tank is going to be trashed. Tissue on rocks will be scraped off or kalked or otherwise killed. The tank will remain acro-less for 8 weeks, at which point I will move a test piece back into my system. If it shows no signs of re infestation after a week, I'll move my acros back and call it good. Anyone see any problems? Room for improvement? General commentary?

I would wait for the reinfestion (if it does happen) for a month.

One week seems like a rush after spending 8 weeks acro fallow....

My two cents - especially if you are going to do what you are doing. Another month seems like a small price to pay for saftey and assurance.

Bleh, I was afraid someone was going to say that :) I was hoping 8 weeks fallow was overkill, but you're probably right :(

Some updates...completely white to this in a month
