bta budding?

This happened several years ago to me. The baby bud eventually split away from the mother and became a separate anemone - although it was a pretty small one.

If I remember correctly, it took over a month from the time I noticed it until it separated. Mine may have been a bit bigger than yours appears to be when I first noticed it, but I have no idea how long it took to develop to that point. That's the problem with them being on the underside of the oral disk - they get hidden when the parent is fully opened.

I never target fed the baby until after it separated.

Good luck and congratulations!

Kevin

ok thanks kevin. ill keep an eye out for it. a month seems reasonable at this point bec i see no signs of it splitting from the mother any time soon.

update

it looks like the little bud with the small tentacles closed up :(

no two headed monster or new split :(

Interesting.

No little one hidding in low in the tank under a rock cave or something? :(

Great pictures though and hoping to hear "jr" is actually around somewhere :)

thanks traveler. i was hoping for same thing. :) so that day is finally here :)

itll be interesting to see which bta the clowns decide to host in.

Holy smokes Embry, that is way cool.
I think I asked your permission to post them on my site, I have forgotten, if permission is granted I would love to have them there.
Fantastic.
I have all of a sudden gained two small red BTA's . Have no idea where they came from but they are around the size of a silver dollar.
Nothing split that I know of so just have no idea, but happy to have them.
I found them sitting side by side one morning and then the next morning one was gone.
Two days I watched for it, then this morning it traveled from the center of the 125 to the far right corner.
Silly things. Cool tho.
Let me know on the permission and will save the above.

Great. What name would you like me to put with them?
I always give credit for anything that I post owned by others.
And thanks a bunch.
Will get the section on tomorrow after I find out what you would like for the credit.
If you have any other pictures please send them to me at fishingwithcloe@wildblue.net and I will go through them and if they're as good as these will post them also.

no need for credit :) but you can use embryoguy if you would like, but not necessary.

these are the best pics i have of them.

they are also on my little red house.

Ok will do , thanks
Look forward to adding them.
I would like to use what you posted about the mom in this thread and through it in your words also. That way I won't be having to try and explain what was happening.
Will do that now.
