BTA disaster
So i received my BTA yesterday and after acclimation he openened right up and everything looked good, during the day in the first few hours he kinda opened and closed a couple times and I thought that was normal. Today not so good, first off the batter and my timer went out so m,y lights came on 2 hours late. But he hasnt opened up, moved to the right just a little bit and spread out. He doesnt look good at all, there is the white skin type stuff and the clowns in my tank are actually taking bites of it. I have never seen anything like this. What is going on

I would keep the clowns away..sounds like your bta is changing the water inside its body they will stay like this for hours. Some times they will stay like that the whole day and then return to normal in the evening. This is what they do to acclimate themselfs to their new home. Of course, just as precaution..you could do a small water change. If it has still not returned back to normal by tonight then get back to us. Tell us about your tank parameters and we'll go from there.

its almost like its 2 differnt animals, one part looks deflated and the next half looks like its falling apart and decenigrating. There is white cotton like stuff attatched to and the clowns were nipping on that and it just looked like it was falling apart

If it isnt salvagable I would like to know because I can send it back to saltwaterfish.com before it totally decenegrates.

ok..well go to ... www.karensroseanemones.com She has lots of pictures of anemones. What they normally do and what they look like when they are dying.. I doubt yours is dying ..btas don't die that fast. Unless your tank is young but still it takes btas weeks to die even in a young tank . How long has your tank been set up?

oh:( I personally would never get an anemone from SWF.com. Because the best pictures they have of a bta is one that is totally bleached. If thats what they have for a best picture I can't imagine what condition their other anemones are. your tank sounds old enough..what kind of lights do you have and what is your tank parameters?

ammonia- 0 , nitrite-0, nitrate -15 , ph 8, alk -1.78-2.8 Mh,

It looks like the picture of one dieing, there are those white stuff coming out everywhere like she describes. I have coralife power compacts - 4 * 65 watts lamps.

Where would you get one from online for future refference?
Also I think I may just go ahead and pull it, I dont want to risk everything else in my tank.

A six month old tank is really young. I would take it out and put it in QT and see if it will live. Get it out of your main tank.

I just packaged it up and mailed it bact to SWF.com. It was too far gone, it was basically falling apart and flowing throughout the tank. All the water parameters were in check. I really dont know what happened, and I cant seem to find a likely cause.

Im not really sure yet, they havent wrote me an email back but I did already put it in the mail to them . I wont be buying another anemone mail order, I think I will want to see it before I buy it next time.
