BTA in 150 litre (40gal) tank advice

When I say is it bad to do more than 10% water changes, I do understand that the more water changed can become less of a good thing.

I think that you are doing right with your water changes but most stick with 10%. Since your levels are good right now I don't think it would be bad to skip this wc and deal with lighting. Again like you said and I agree only one thing at a time. Usually if they aren't happy they move, but in your case that isn't happening.

You should seek out member OrionN he is the nem expert here at RC. Maybe he'll see this and chime in. But it would be worth sending him a PM to take a look at this thread anyway to make sure.

Yes your sg is spot on.

Just check my wc percentage, turns out I've been doing about 11% water changes, sometimes less.

My total water volume is 180 litres (47 gallons), for some reason I've never added my sump into the equation [emoji107]. I've never changed more than 20 litres at one time so never have I changed more than say 13-14% of my water.

Will do this it what the bta looked like this morning

Absolutely nothing, I have no idea why it looked so, sick, or why it looks so much better.

I'm just happy the mouth is starting to close up and that it is fully inflated. I won't be feeding it at all this week and see how it goes, decided not to change the lighting and to continue with my usual water change habits. I think it was over feeding..

If think your anemone is fine. They are hardy and will do fine in a tank well run for LPS. Best of luck with him although I don't think you will need it.

Thanks OrionN, just overreacting you think? Maybe so, it looks good today and the mouth has been opening and closing. For now it has remained closed for about 2 hours.

Did my water change today and it is fully inflated and looking like it is loving life.

Update/new additions.

BTA has been doing fine, (just like OrionN said). Have not fed it again since before last post but will most likely feed again early next week. Clowns are great, growing (I think) or so others have said and benny the blenny is great, he's my favourite, so much personality.

Water is perfect. Here's an update of new stock I got today,

As can be seen above I've got some zoanthids and a Xenia, the X is in my sump after an hour of drip acclimation, and the zoos are in a emergency QT however I don't plan on having them in there for more than a few hours.

If I were wise I should have them in there for a few weeks at leased before putting them into the display, but I will be away this weekend and can't do routine water changes for them plus I don't have a filter for a qt.

From back to front the zoas are:

Fire and Ice (surprise surprise)
Blue Ice
Purple People Eaters
Purple Hearts

Here's a pic of the BTA currently..

Hey guys, I got a GBTA today, looks great can't wait until it opens right up. My 'male' clown (the little one) started hosting it after about 10mins of it being in the tank and up until now the female had no interest in the GBTA. She has kicked out the little one I assume in hopes of claiming both the BTAs as her own.

Has anyone had any experience in deterring one clown from claiming something?

I assume that there is no way and that 'nature' just has to run its course. Cheers for any advice anyone has!

Here's a pic of the Green beauty:

I also got a red lined cleaner shrimp, can't get a photos as it is hiding for now.

Kinda using this thread as my journal now,

Here's an update.

Added a 20l tank to the system tonight, also my salinity has dropped to 1.022 from 1.024-5. Feel pretty **** about that, needless to say the BTAs aren't happy at all.

other than that not much is new, just growing, slowly haha. Oh, also upgraded my lighting a few months back to the Radion gen 3, very impressed and my corals were thankful.

So how did the sg drop that much without you knowing it?
