BTA is too big

Ok so I've got an issue that I don't know if anybody else has a solution to.
My RBTA is too big. When it's fully expanded and all the tentacles are all extended it's easily over a foot across. And in my little 75 gallon tank that's just too much. I've tried everything I can to get it to move or shrink in size but it is VERY happy where it is and I can't get to the foot to move it or frag/cut it manually. When I did get it to split on it's own it just grew back to the same size in a few months. I'm at a loss. It's a lovely piece in my tank and I would hate to have to get rid of it totally but it seriously takes up around 20% of my available rockwork. Suggestions?

If you're currently spot feeding it, stop. Also stronger lights have been know to make nems not expand as big... of course isn't the easiest to do and it may make it move.

apparently you have a healthy tank so first and foremost, congrats :thumbsup:

second, you have some choices....
move the other corals and hope the nem doesn't move and/or get bigger...
or direct a ph toward it in hopes that it will move...and if so, either remove it permanently or cut it in half and sell/donate the other half...

One trick that worked for a friend of mine was to slowly raise the salinity to 1.026, leave it for a month, then drop it to 1.023 by replacing tank water with RO water until it read low enough. A sudden drop is better than a sudden increase, but sometimes will shock them into splitting.
