BTA / LTA - Red/Yellow/White/Pink

I just snatched this anemone up. It's listed as a BTA. Can't see the base. Friend swears it's an LTA. I still think it's a BTA.

Don't care either way, think it's a great looking piece, and my tank is setup to handle either or...

...but while I wait for it to arrive next tuesday.. What do you guys think?

BTA or LTA?

Need to see a pic of the column to make an accurate id. That color is seen in both species. How it's attached would also help with an id. BTAs never bury in the sand and LTAs do.

Ya, for sure. Once I get it I'll know right away. This is all i have to go on until it shows up.

So place your bets!!! ;) What do you think?

Like Gary said, need to see the underside of the oral disc, but right now I am thinking LTA (( M. doreensis )), and a nice looking one at that.

I'm leaning more towards LTA now, after spending a bit more time looking at the tentacle arrangement. Yes I know we won't know for sure until we find out those things..but where is the fun in that. ;)

Ok, since we're betting, I'm going to say LTA, too. Kinda looks like it's buried down in a PVC pipe and the way the tentacles are laid out leans me in that direction. What do we win if we get it right? :)

a updated picture of me taking all the sand in my tank putting into a big pile and then putting the anenome into said pile.

Beautiful! Is she going to be hosting any clowns? A pair of pink skunks would look sweet with that color. :D

We have a pair of black and white occ, but they don't seem to be making any inkling of a desire to host even before I put it in. They just kinda hang out in a corner. I have a purple/green tip bta in the opposite corner of the tank. They've made no motion to it either. :( Guess only time will tell.

I picked up a red w/ white tip LTA just like you a couple months ago. I had a hard time getting it to attach, and finally learned that it likes low flow/low light/sand. My cap is hosting it and it's under some rocks getting minimal light/rocks. :D Good score!
