BTA spitting out food

I have a young BTA. He is about 4" accross when fully open. He has very good coloration and has not moved from his spot in two weeks. He has found a little hole in one of the top shelf rocks parked under a 250w 6500k halide. I have been trying to give him very small cut up pieces of silver side soaked in selcon. These pieces are like 1/4 to 1/2 inch in size. Every time he grabs them and eats it very quickly, then by the next morning he has spit them back out.

Should I try a different type of food? I have tried squirting some mysis to him, but he doesnt seem to really grab it and pull it in like he does the silverside pieces. I also have some fozen krill I could try.

Try the krill. If it doesn't work, lay off the food for a week or two. Being under such intense lighting, your anemone may not need much (or any) supplemental direct feedings.

the size of the fish seems ok, it may not be hungry. they will try to injest most foods they come in contact with. try one without the selcon, that could also be a reason for regurgitation. good luck and have a great weekend!
