BTA stopped splitting question

One of my BTA's started to split two day's ago and still hasn't finished. It split half way through the mouth and has stopped. It's deflated but color is very good. How long have any of you seen it take for them to finish splitting in cases like this? The last time this one split it happened overnight without delay.

I'm worried that the new flesh has healed to the point where when the split is finished it may not close up on each half.

Thanks

I'm not sure why it stopped.
While BTA's do split naturally, excessive splitting is usually a sign of stress or tank params that do not meet it's standards.
Just a shot in dark perhaps your tank is becoming better balanced and it's not feeling the need, maybe, possibly stunting the split, and that's just total guess on my end sight unseen or not knowing tank.
I rarely ever suggest this, but you could possibly finish that split manually, though that always has some risk, and I would not make it a habbit, but if it's mostly there already and obvious where to divide, might work for you.

I agree about the stress. The first split was when it first went into my tank and the second was that I just switched everything to a 40b tank. The parameters are spot on.

The biggest problem with helping the split finish is that I've got 3 nems on the same rock and this one is well attached to a very large rock.

Right now it almost looks like the nem is trying to go back together. You know how they pull that cover (for lack of better terms) over them at night or to digest food? Well it's doing that.

Yeah hard to say w/out seeing and seeing what it is doing, guess leave it be for now.
You could possibly feed heavy to induce the split.

Yeah I think I agree and leave it alone for now and see what happens. It's healthy and has good light, so isn't going to starve lol.

Dave, what would make tentacles corkscrew on BTA's? Long, stringy and corkscrew.

So you have seen it then. All of mine are doing this and they were all bubbled up when I got them. I bought new HO T5's and they bubbled up for one day then back to long tentacles and then corkscrewing. Looks cool but I like the bubbles :(

I guess corkscrew is another one to add to that data thread.
