Tank specs before the question is asked: 72 bow with a sump, skimmer and fuge ..DIY cree led setup with about 60 leds
Tank has been up and stable for about a year now with nice growth on LPS and SPS corals.. stable parameters but my ph seems to read a little low 7.8 but I think that needs calibration. alk about 8-9 and cal is about 420ppm, green algae is very minimal but only on my sandbed( thin coat not hair or to much of it)

With that said I added a NeonGreen BTA about a month ago who wondered for a day until I placed him at the far left of my tank where he decided a dark spot under a rock was nice for him, not complete darkness but still. After a week of waiting he didn't move, sometimes small bubble shape but most of the time long tentacles. I got impatient :headwallblue: since my clowns will never find him there, so I flipped his rock and exposed him to the light. Same spot he picked (rock under a powerhead) but exposed to light. Since then 3 weeks later he only opens half way, never really opens nicely and keeps his tentacles bubbled up close to his body. I noticed he is completely closed up at times but that might be the peppermint shrimp bothering him. I feed him a clam once or twice a week at night which he seems to really like because the next day he bubbles up really big for a little then closes. I figured if he was unhappy he would move but remains miserable in his spot. He doesn't have his mouth open or have signs of damage/illness

what should I do?

I say that as long as he is eating and is sticky let him be. Messing with him will only stress him out. Do you have any pics? I would also double check your PH and get it above 8. What is your salinity at?

BTW it took about 7 months before my RBTA hosted my Clowns. In my opinion the longer the clowns wait to go to the BTA the better. It gives the Nem time to settle in and not get beat-up by the clows. Again pics will help.

+1 on patience. He'll find his own spot eventually...and will eventually need the light...he is still acclimating himself...and don't be alarmed if they do not bubble. Not uncommon either

Im not worried about the clowns at the moment, just the health of the BTA. I raised my ph after a water change last night to a 7.9-8.0 and I started kalk( Mr.wages) in my top off again to get my ph back up and stable. Pictures are crap since all I had was my dell laptop, iphone went for a swim.

I forgot to add this to my original post which is a huge factor. The green BTA sold to me as a neon green BTA which I knew/felt was just a bleached out Green BTA after an hour of research on my phone while standing at the store. So I called them out on it and got it for pretty cheap and hope feeding would bring it back to life but I fear my leds are too strong.

Second is the new RBTA or not sure what type which I got for cheap $25 sold as a RBTA and I built him a nice arch to move around on, he is only 2 days old in the tank, was very open when I got him but closed up and hasn't moved.

after transfer the picture they have gotten even worse so if you can even see much try it out if not that's the best I got. My peppermint thought I feed the BTA so dove right into it and closed it up

I dont get this guy, the RBTA is in the highest flow area possible looking like a long hair hair dude on a motorcycle. Yet he doesnt move ! I dont get it!
