Bubble destroying snails?

I had a metallic green bubble coral that has slowly been receding. I moved it out of bright light and flow, but it didn't seem to perk up. I inspected it very closely today and found three, white, spiral-shelled snails, about 1/2" in length, wedged inside the skeleton. Around the snails were what looked like little egg sacks.

My question is, has anyone heard of this, or know what they are? How do I treat for them? I removed the snails (and fed them to a triggerfish :-) ). Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

If you can remove the bubble- you want to slowly wiggle it to make it retract its flesh. The weight of the flesh with water can pull and damage the tissue out of water.

I'd give it a quick 10 second freshwater dip maybe with some TMPCC to clear out anything on it. maybe scrape any eggs off as well if that is indeed whats doing it.
