Both have the same rating, and cost almost exactly the same... The mini is time-tested, but the double cone is a newer model...

Which one should skim better on a medium/heavy stocked 180 with about 210 gallons of total water volume?

Let's assume I have unlimited space.

Double cone gets my vote if for no other reason than the fact that the pump is outside the skimmer body. You don't need to remove And disassemble the skimmer to clean the pump. The mini is a space-saving design which I think necessitates sacrifices when it comes to the footprint & the skimmer body design in order to accommodate the small footprint. Don't give me wrong, the mini is a great skimmer but in my opinion the double cone doesn't make the same sacrifices because footprint wasn't a design concern with the DC.
