Bubble King Skimmer Club

@uireef, I'd go with the Super Marin 250 without a doubt on that size tank. If you're pushing 500g or over, then go with the Super Marin 300.

@sportzfish, There are only two different models of motorblocks used in the Royal-Exclusiv skimmer line:

Askoll 1500 - BK Mini, Vertex Alpha, Slave pump on SM 300.
Askoll 2000 - All Super Marin and Delux skimmers.

Then the differences are volute sizes, venturi sizes, impeller head sizes, etc. Any Askoll 1500 will fit your Gen 2 Mini 180, but the problem is that the pump plate that the block is glued to is specific to your Gen 2 Mini 180 only, so if you pick up a 1500 block for another skimmer you'll have to use your existing pump plate.

Hello, I just received my supermarin 250 broken, what can I do??
It was send to Brazil by USPS.

thanks, Takashi

Hey guys, I have a Bubble king question! I am a proud owner of 2 bubble kings. A 160 and a 180. I bought them bought used. The 160 I put on a system I had up and running for years and love it. The 180, I put it on a brand new system. The system has been cycling now for a week. Everytime I plug in the 180 it just fills up the cup in less than a min and keeps going. This is my first experince with setting up a new system using the bubble king. Does it need to break in? I dont believe the issue is the water level. The bubble king was damaged during shipping and I made repairs to it. I am trying to figure out if this is happening due to the reapirs or if this is normal and will go away after a break in. Cause my 160 did not have this issue. But it was also added to an older system. I would really appericate any knowledge on this situation! Thanks!!!!!

@taka - Email me your order number to jeremy@premiumaquatics.com.

@Frost3839 - Just Remove the plug in the collection cup and let it drain. It will eventually settle down after a few days and you'll be able to dial it in. If you want to post some photos of the skimmer in the sump just so we can take a look at it to make sure the install is ok that would be fine too. I'm already assuming that you've adjusted the wedge pipe so that it's full open and nothing is clogging the venturi or anything is stuck in the pins of the impeller as well.

Yes I did all the proper adjustments with the wedge pipe. and ventrui is not clogged from what I can tell. I have had it running 24/7 already for the last few days. It is still doing it

Many thanks Robbie

Don't worry....Give it a couple of weeks more without adjusting anything, it will settle down. Quite normal when the 180 breaks in.

No worries, it's just reacting to something in your system from being a new setup. Just let it run and it will settle down within the next few days or so.

They sure do... You need the Vectra cleaner itself:

Plus the 180mm lid:

The Vertex cleaner heads a lot more robust - better built, and corrosion resistant compared to what the old AquaDriver cleaner head was. AquaDriver built the old expensive Bubble King head as well, so the Vertex is really the way to go.

It has been 2 weeks now and it still has not stopped. I am starting to believe it was from the repairs I made to the skimmer. When I recioeved it the pipe connecting the bubble plate to the pump was snapped and a small peace of the white ceramic housing on the inside on the pump. I epxied them togther. Then used a small amount of silicone to smooth things out. Let dry for 2 weeks. Then put it to use and this is happing. No idea what to do! :headwally:

Can you post photos of the repairs you made? Also, is the bubble plate installed so that the outlet of the pump is hitting the piece of the bubble plate that has no holes in it, then disperses from there?

Does anyone know where I can buy a new pump housing? I am starting to believe that is the issue. I believe the epoxy in the repair is causing issues. By housing I am reffering to the white peaces that bolts to the pump and attaches to the bubble plate. (For a bk 180 gen2) I looked it up on there website out of the country but was woundering if there was somewhere in the US I could get a hold of one. Maybe cheaper!? Or if ANYONE has a broken BK180 and wants to sell me that part!!!! =) I took the skimmer apart today and cleaned everuthing and checked everything and yet it still is bubbling over like a mad man!

Good morning guys. Need to replace my BK MINI 180 Gen 2 pump. It died on me overnight.
Anyone has a spare one around?
Thanks.
